Nokia 5800 and LG KM900 Arena set sail for Australia!

Hi all!

Not sure if there is still people reading this... but since MWC2009 there has been undescribably amounts of mobile phone news happening, and having lots of homework doesn't help the state of my blog or website!

Nokia 5800 in Australia

Heres some more juicy news related to Australia anyway. In the latest Allphones magazine, Nokia announce their XpressMusic that runs on the first Symbian OS that is touch operated for Australia! The Nokia 5800 is set for Virgin Mobile first, at a $45 Cap + $4? handset repayments. Not bad for a higher-mid range phone!

LG KM900 Arena in Australia

Also! The LG KM900 is heading towards Australia MUCH sooner that I thought! It was announcecd in the Allphones magazine, as "coming soon". To refresh some memories, the LG KM900 Arena is an iPhone-clone. It features the 3D S-class interface, and fortunately, looking through the menus will be smooth, thanks to the 3D accelerator chip inside the device!

Unlreltaed news

I've bought a Samsung Omnia recently! Unfortunately, since the announcement of the Samsung Omnia HD, my phone now looks outdated, but I'm still loving it. Drop a comment if you ever need help with your Samsung Omnia!

HTC Touch HD finally hits our shores!

Hey everybody!

Long time no post, mostly due to beginning the school year with craploads of work... and laziness. There has been SO many leaks of new and unannounced phones as we lead up into the largest mobile convention held every year, the Mobile World Congress 2009 held at Barcelona.

But before we head into the new juicy phones, the thing that got me more excited (and is more relavant to Australia) is that The HTC Touch HD has FINALLY hit Aussie shores!! Its been released for a couple of months overseas, but it is finally available from dodgy Telstra for a too-expensive plan of $150 per month.

Here are some photos of me playing with it. Sorry for the dodgy photo quality again, Im still using my 2.5 year old Nokia 6233 which has a fixed foxus 2 megapixel camera. Its still a legend that thing... records VGA video at 15 fps... one of the first cameras that could do that in those days xD

[I talked to the Telstra salsperson, he got rid of the i-mate 9502 sign]

There will be a full mini review on 1337c4mp3r's Techspot Nexus soon along with a video!

New mobiles GALORE!

Hi all!!

Its incredible that I take a few days off mobile phones, and all these companies punch out several new handsets!! So in this case, I'll keep it short, and just give you a breif of each phone and some pics!

Sony Ericsson W395 - Snapshot And Quick Facts

First is Sony Ericssons leaked, unofficial (and apparent) W395, which is a low to mid-ranged Walkman phone.

The SE W395 will feature:

- 2" (176x220) screen
- 2 megapixel fixed-focus camera
- A2DP Bluetooth

Sony Ericsson C901 - Snapshot And Quick Facts

Here is the leaked and unannounced Sony Ericsson C901 to add to the Cybershot line-up for Sony Ericsson. It's projected that the release will be in April some time. According to GSMArena, the announcement will be in Feburary.

The C901 will sport very camera-centric features as:

- 5 megapixel auto-focus camera
- Xenon flash, smile shutter

Sony Ericsson C903 - Snapshot And Quick Facts

Sony Ericsson seems to have generated a continuous waterfall of leaked photos. The codenamed Sony Ericsson Frances is presumed to be the new Sony Ericsson C903 slider phone.

The camera-centric C903 will sport:

- 5 megapixel autofocus camera
- QVGA (240x320) 2.4" screen
- GPS, A2DP bluetooth

Nokia E75 - Snapshot and Quick Facts

The unannounced Nokia E75 will be the new brick-slider addition to the business-focused E series. This provides a non-Blackberry-style alternative to the E71. Not bad! Frequent texters and email addicted, keep your eyes peeled!

The E75 will have:

- 2.4" screen
- 3.2 megapixel shooter
- WiFi, HSDPA
- Symbian S60 OS

HTC Touch Cruise 09 - Snapshot and Quick Facts

The unoriginally and cumbersomely named HTC Touch Cruise 09 will be a sequel to the HTC Touch Cruise, and has been officially announced. It would make sense that GPS is the main function of this device, as it is called the Touch "Cruise".

The Touch Cruise 09 will feature:

- 3.2 megapixel fixed-focus camera
- Windows Mobile 6.1 with TouchFLO interface
- QVGA (240x320) 2.8" screen
- 512MB internal memory, MicroSD slot
- 3G, WiFi, A2DP Bluetooth
- aGPS with a fat bunch of features incl geo-tagging

Announcement of new phones?

It would make sense that the billions of these mystery leaked phones appearing in the last couple of days will be announced at the next large mobile convention at the Mobile World Congress 2009 held at Barcelona. Unfortunately, not too much has been revealed in the Consumer Electronics Show 2009 this year in Vegas. I believe it's because isn't mainly focused on mobile handsets.

Oh well... we have six months-ish to wait till we see a whole new set of new handsets to be shot in our faces!

"Webslider" phones getting popular

Hey all,

We are continually seeing more phones from Nokia, they're just shooting out like a fully-automatic rifle.

First Glimpse:

The newest leak of an un-announced Nokia handset is the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic, which takes the form factor of the brick-slider. These brick-sliders, as I call them, are increasingly popular throughout all handset manufacturers, as shown by LG's KS360 (nicknamed the "Webslider" here in Aussie) and HTC's S740.

[Left to Right: Nokia 5730, then LG KS360 and HTC S740; click for larger]

Nerd Facts:

- 3.2 Megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics
- Symbian S60 (the non-touch version)
- QVGA (240x320) 2" Display with 16 million colours
- No info on CPU yet
- 128MB RAM
- Bluetooth, GPS, USB, 3G

What the Hell is a Brick Slider?

Brick-sliders, in the 1337c4mp3r dictionary, pretty much is an average brick phone (usually with no touchscreen or advanced business functionalities) with a sideways sliding mechanisim to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard.

Big fat hoax

Hi guys,

Its finally let known to the public. In this weeks edition of the Icon Magazine from the Sydney Morning Herald revealed that the iPhone Nano, which was a proposed smaller and inexpensive version of the popular iPhone, was everything but true.

Unfortuately there will be many sad little fanboys that will be drowning in their own tears. And I'll be standing right beside them....

pointing and laughing at them.
